Background

SMECC2E is committed to advancing sustainable development across Africa by addressing critical challenges in clean energy transition, climate change, and transport systems. Through strategic collaboration, capacity building, and innovation, the initiative aims to strengthen institutional frameworks and empower individuals with the knowledge and skills needed for a greener future.

Specific Objectives

• Increase Africa’s human resources by promoting inclusive learning mobility opportunities with a focus on Clean Energy Transition and Climate Change.
• Strengthen academic programmes and participating African Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) through harmonization and standardization of curricula, fostering recognition, African integration, and capacity-building initiatives.
• Enhance the employability of higher education students and trainees by reinforcing collaboration between HEIs and businesses in Africa, particularly within the Clean Energy Transition, Climate Change, and Transport sectors.
• Create platforms for professional exchanges, mentorship, knowledge sharing, and dissemination of best practices in climate and energy studies and research.
