The University of Cape Coast is a public University in Ghana located in the former capital city of Ghana, Cape Coast. It was established in October 1962. The University runs a collegiate system with five (5) functional colleges namely: College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences, College of Humanities and Legal Studies, College of Distance Education, College of Health and Allied Sciences and College of Education Studies. The University has been a strong Research Institution fronting a number of international projects and consortia in varied fields of Energy, Environment, Fisheries, Water, Food, Agriculture and Health for both local and International Organisations. University of Cape Coast is experienced in implementing mobility projects. The university trains doctors and health care professionals, business professionals, administrators, legal professionals, computer scientists, internet and communication experts, educationists, agriculturalists, environmental scientists and environmental engineers as well as energy experts. Some prominent graduates from the University of Cape Coast include Ministers of State, High Commissioners, CEOs, Members of Parliament, and Ghana’s first female vice president. Complementariness of University of Cape Coast. Due to the diverse programmes run in the University of Cape Coast, such as Environmental Science at both the M.Phil. and Ph.D. levels; Clean Energy and Environment (also up to Ph.D. level); Civil and Environmental Engineering, Health-related programmes (Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing), Computer Science, Information and Communication Technology among others. Consequently, the University of Cape Coast comes to this project with experts from varied backgrounds who can handle the various programmes that will be administered in this project. In addition, the University will leverage on its experiences it has garnered over the years in fronting and executing EU-MOBAF projects to successfully execute this NDICI-MOBAF project. The University is fully equipped with state-of-the-art laboratory equipment which will facilitate teaching and research. The University is functionally active in research areas related to Environment, Climate Change and Renewable Energy. The Department of Environmental Science, which is the main Department that will coordinate the activities of the NDICI-MOBAF 2025, will be the host to foreign students, trainees and researchers who will be travelling to have their mobility in the University of Cape Coast. The Department of Environmental Science, runs Environmental Science (at both the M.Phil. and Ph.D. levels) and Clean Energy and Environment (also up to Ph.D. level).
