Lupane State University (LSU) is a state university in Zimbabwe. It is located in the province of Matebeleland North. The university has five faculties that include the Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Commerce, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Humanities and  Social Sciences,  and the Faculty of Built Environment. The university is accredited by Zimbabwe Council of Higher Education (ZIMCHE) and also a member of various associations in Africa and globally. The university offers various programs at levels such as certificate, diploma, bachelor, masters, and doctorates. The university is guided by Education 5.0 policy which places importance on five key pillars: 1) Teaching, 2) Research, 3) Community service, 4) Innovation, and 5) Industrialisation. The university houses academics with expertise in Energy, Engineering, Climate Change, and Policy. Situated in a Semi-Arid Region, the University holds experts in climate change, mitigation, adaptation and energy policy. The Department of Development Studies offers PhD studies  in Development Studies with students focusing on climate change and energy  related issues. Again, the University  offers a taught Master of Science degree in Climate Change  and Sustainable Development, Master of Science in Public policy and Development management and PhDs in Environmental Science and ecological Resources management at postgraduate level. Academics at Lupane State University have published extensively in climate change and energy issues. Some of the academics have consulted for United Nations (UN) agencies, Urban Futures, International Non-Governmental Organisations, the government of Zimbabwe, and the private sector. The University also has the Center for Evaluation Science which provides with it innovative and advanced monitoring, evaluation and learning services. Students will benefit from the experience of the academics as they will engage with multiple stakeholders that collaborate with the university. The expertise brought by the Lupane State University will broaden the knowledge of the students and partners in the social aspects of climate change adaptation , ultimately leading to the success of the project.
